Trail runners will welcome the Patriot program
The Helena Trail Riders will be putting on their community service hats by hosting an “American Patriot” program at the Wednesday September 15th meeting at the HTR Clubhouse at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds at 6:30 pm.
Don Reed, Montana president of the Sons of the American Revolution, will be the guest speaker. He will perform a patriotic skit starring Benjamin Franklin and Mrs. Elizabeth Powell (a friend of George Washington). Our nation will celebrate the 234th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on September 17th.
A commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the tragedy that struck America’s heart on September 11, 2001 will be celebrated.
Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served.
Helena’s youth among royalty at the powwow
The Last Chance Community Powwow Committee will have two local youth as part of royalty at the 22nd Last Chance Community Powwow to be held October 1-3 at the Lewis County Fairgrounds and Clark, showroom.
Aiyana Marcum, Miss Last Chance Princess 2019-21, has been a fancy shawl dancer and has been dancing since the age of 5. Aiyana is the daughter of Jamie and Tina Marcum of East Helena and a member of the Little Shell Tribe.
