Neko has raced for some of the biggest downhill teams before, including Trek, YT and Intense, and has often experimented with his racing bikes to add your own touch to the designs. Now he’s using all that experience and applying it to his own designs for his 2022 running program with help from Martin Whiteley. Neko specified the geometry and kinematics and the legendary Frank the welder helped him fabricate his designs.
Frank the welder helped Neko choose the right tubes and do the welding.
Neko will test two models ahead of the racing season – a high pivot (ish) and a more regular design. He hopes to settle in one direction before the first round in Lourdes in March.
Neko’s list of sponsors now includes: Ride Kanuga, WorldWide Cyclery, Maxxis, Fox, Reserve, Fox, Kogel, WD-40, ODI, Factor, WTB, HandUp, Spank and GoPro.
This is all the information we have on Neko’s new project at the moment but we are working on a bike check and an in-depth interview to talk about this decision and this unique direction. Stay tuned for more.
